Copper vessels have been used for storing water for thousands of years in India to create “tamara jal”. According to Ayurvedic principles, tamara jal helps align the three doshas in your body, (vata, kapha and pitta). In addition to the Aruvedic properties, copper has also been proven to have anti-bacterial and anti-microbial properties. Our bottles are handmade in India by one of our partners and requires a bit of special care to keep it in top condition.
To make copper water, simply fill up your vessel before you go to bed and let the water sit overnight. Drink first thing in the morning on an empty stomach to help start your day. Clean and dry thoroughly after every use.
The outside of these bottles are not treated, so they will change colour over time, giving the exterior a lovely patina. If you desire to keep it shiny and new, a scrub with some salt and lemon will bring it back to new. A cleaning and care sheet is included with each copper bottle.
The threads must be aligned properly to seal these bottles. Please take extreme care when tightening lid as these are handmade and forcing the threads can lead to damage to the bottle or the silicone ring used to keep it watertight. If threads are catching or grinding, a small amount of food grade lubricant or coconut oil can be applied to help.
