Copper vessels have been used for storing water for thousands of years in India to create “tamara jal”. According to Ayurvedic principles, tamara jal helps align the three doshas in your body, (vata, kapha and pitta). In addition to the Aruvedic properties, copper has also been proven to have anti-bacterial and anti-microbial properties. Our copper ware is handmade in India by one of our partners and requires a bit of special care to keep it in top condition.
We recommend cold or room temperature water only! Copper is a great conductor for heat, not only will hot drinks cool in a hurry but you risk burning your skin with extremely hot beverages. Moscow mules and other drinks are a favorite with copper cups as well.
Tea and coffee can have their flavor significantly altered by the copper or damage the vessel, so its best to stay away from these. Acidic beverages and dairy products will also be negatively effected by the copper so please do not use these for milk based beverages.
These are unsealed copper so they will tarnish with use. Use a slice of lemon and some salt to bring back their original shine and remove oxidation!
